JVM-Hall of Fame

JVM-Boy did I feel like a kid today? The Baseball Hall of Fame will do that to a guy. As a little boy growing up in southern California, my brothers and I fell in love with baseball , thanks to our dad and the magic of Vin Scully’s voice through a transistor radio’s tiny little speaker. Like many kids my age, I would pretend I was a major leaguer in my backyard either while playing ‘pickle’ with my brothers or bouncing the ball off the side of the garage. So, for me to walk into the Hall of Fame was like connecting the dots of childhood with this thing called manhood. Wandering through with my mouth wide open, half in disbelief, half in wide-eyed amazement was every bit as good as I thought it would be. We were there for 5 hours, and truthfully, I could do it again tomorrow just to see what I’m sure I missed today.

John, to go from Vin Scully to Rick Rizzs is just so sad.
